The 3D program Truespace made by Caligari is now owned by Microsoft and they have made it free.

Truespace can make 3D scenes and animation and is a very powerful tool for artists and designers. You could use it to design your new bathroom or office block to scale and be a powerful part of your creative tool box along with the usual suspect Photoshop to visualise anything your imagination can think of.

To give you a better idea of the possibilities the following pictures have all been made by Truespace. Dont let the complexity put you off though as these images have won best of month awards from the Caligari website. To show you some simpler scenes I've included my own efforts made using an earlier version of Truespace at the bottom.
